Generation X
This track is my remix of Malcolm X's "Ballot or the Bullet" speech . . .
It’s not about separation, segregation or they integration,
it’s about us participating in our own liberation.
We tired of waiting,
it’s time to build up this Afrikan nation
plus we lacking in patience.
Before we go back
to sitting on the back of your bus
we’ll bust back at you
our crews is ready
for whatever means be necessary
keep your month of February.
We don’t need your 28 days
just to discuss your hate
your lies and your genocides
‘cause we got pride – 365.

We got our own religions
our own versions of sinning
got our own business practices
we buy Black
‘cause we like to do for self
and plus they wack anyways.
You Columbuses can’t discover
the essence of us in your corporate offices.
We made up of sun rays and God’s graces.
Our souls run deep like them rivers.
We deliver our grandparents dreams deferred
to the little boys and girls
it’s our world for the taking, children, listen.
We link our struggles
hustle these rhymes like bean pies
to feed our struggles.
We believe in struggle.
We sling this slang
these ghetto stories is no game
these rhymes we saying
contain no characters
just modern-day slave narratives.
Hell no, I’m not American.
I’m an Afrikan
in this American system.
Think about it
will they want us enlisting in they wars
when they not sure which side we really on.
They got agents, we got agents too
Spooks to sit by the door
they declared war
on the young, Black, the poor, the dispossessed,
we Malcolm’s children, we generation X.
The oppressed youth of the world
is organizing in mass and coming
more explosive than weapons of mass destruction
the blast is coming
and them gas masks and duct tape
just won’t save ‘em cousin.
